Abstract

It has been widely agreed that entrepreneurial strategies lead to the success of firms. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) have been given high priority in Malaysia and identified as one of the engines of economic growth to drive Malaysia toward the New Economic Model (NEM) transformation. This study highlights the impact of Strategic and Competitive Posture of SMEs sector in Malaysia which is perceived as major contributor to the increase in the rate of an organization‟s innovation achievement as well as performance. As a preliminary report, this study provides descriptive analysis of the various demographic variables of SMEs under study. This paper concludes by presenting the conceptual framework of innovation in SMEs.
