Abstract

This project investigates the performance of knowledge-based controller to enchance the quality of generation control on gas turbine model using Simulink from lab software. The proposed controller, i.e. Intelligent Turbine Controller (ITC) uses acceleration feedback to counter the over and under frequency occurrences. This type of controller is also integrated with the non-fixed integral gain that represents the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) to minimise frequency deviations and to restore nominal frequency the soonest possible. Employing both control strategies on the conventional turbine-governor control can result in the improvement on the generation control. Thus, the generator tripping and load shedding operations can be reduced and system can be restored back to normal condition. Finally, it is intended for a paper based on the results obtained from this project to be published in the future.
