Abstract

In order to minimise gases emission on the vehicle, the Air Powered Motorcycle will developed. While developing this motorcycle, the transmission system is use to transfer power from the engine to wheel. The aim of this thesis is to choose the weather by using single speed sprocket or continuous variable transmission system and performance output such as vehicle speed, output torque, output speed and horsepower on transmission system for air powered motorcycle. Furthermore, the existing transmission system on air powered motorcycle that has been benchmark is O2 Pursuit motorcycle only use the single sprocket on the front and the wheel. The performance based on gear ratio is decrease and not give the best result to this motorcycle. In order to give better performance output to the transmission and to the wheel, the mathematical model has been use in this thesis. Besides that, the correct use of mathematical model can be analyzed to give a better performance on the gear ratio. So, from the result it will show the good output such as vehicle speed, output torque, output speed and horsepower should be use in order to choose the transmission system on air powered motorcycle based on the objective of this project.
