Quality of product is the most important aspect in manufacturing [1]. The method for determining quality is divided into post-process inspection and real-time inspection. In this research, we study a scheme to apply computer vision for quality control application. The scheme is concerning to the development of stereo vision system for fabric defect detection based on CMOS web-camera in a production line simulation. The main objectives are to develop automated visual inspection system and image processing algorithm to perform measurement of fabric defects. In this research, we divide the system into hardware and software framework. Quality is one of the most important factors because it is related to customer satisfactory and its interchangeability [2]. Inspection is aimed to confirm quality of the product to set its requirement and standard. Fabric defect detection system is considered as a significant process to provide quality assurance in textile industry [3]. The visual inspection system integrates lighting system, acquisition devices or camera, personal computer, image processing software, and handling equipment Suitable lighting condition plays a vital role in an inspection system [4]. Then, the image enters the software to be analyzed and processed. Although most of typical camera is sensitive to the environment, then it would be necessary to control the lighting condition. The lighting condition can be controlled using dimmer control based on the requirement of product being observed.
