Abstract

Automotive technology have become the area of interest and it start to evolve in line with the increasing demand from customers. The increasing numbers of the vehicle all over the world not only bring good effect to the economy, but also bring bad effect to the environment and consumer. This situation happen due to the emission created from motorized vehicle. In order to overcome this problem, inventors and developers begin to find new source of energy to operate the conventional internal combustion engine. As a result of the study, the inventor designed and developed an electric engine or hybrid engine that uses electric energy to operate the engine. However this technology cannot solve the problem related to air pollution. The advantage of electric vehicle is the longer time for recharging and its battery life not last long and the replacement cost a lot of money. Compressed air energy is the new source of energy that can be used to operate air engine to powered vehicle. This study will focus on air engine system that increase the performance of air engine for air powered motorcycle. The conceptual design of air engine system will be generated based on the previous research from other developers. Motorcycle O2 Pursuit is used as a benchmarking to study its air engine system design. The conceptual design of air engine system will be illustrate using CAD design. The project also includes the analysis of air consumption for air powered motorcycle operation.
