Abstract

In this case study, a product was selected and analysed using the DF A (Design for Assembly) House Methodology. The prupose of this project is to analyse and improve the product and the related assembly process by determining the assembly tasks, indicating the interaction between the product and process parameters, performing the relationships between the assembly operations and properties, representing the product structure in order to get the target value and finally redesigning the product and process using DF A House methodology. The advantages ofDF A in manufacturing are numerous including; minimizing the total number of parts, making the assembly process easier, improving the design quality, and improving the efficiency of an assembled manufactured goods.
