Abstract
Nowadays, internet user is overwhelming with information until having problem to find the right thing at the right time in the right way. One of the solutions is a system that can personalise information in a web page to a particular user. The purpose of this project is to explore the difficulty to perform personalisation in a web page and also find out the best way to present personalisation options to user. To do so a news portal that has personalisation and customisation capability called Your-News has been created. There are several types of personalisation have been implemented in this news portal i.e. news personalisation, page and content customisation. The method to do news personalisation is through content based filtering technique and the page and content customisation are implemented using explicit input from users. As a result users get the news items based on their previous activity and at the same time get the customise content and page presentation.
