Abstract
The green technologies are being developed around the world and one of the promising technologies is the thermoacoustic system. Thermoacoustic system contains inert gas as working fluid and uses acoustic energy and thermal energy conversions with very minimal use of moving parts. This paper reports the experimental study of the role of the kinetic Reynolds number for thermoacoustic analysis. Dimensionless numbers for oscillatory flow of thermoacoustics were identified and used for analysis of heat transfer across a staggered tube banks that was heated to 40 °C and then tested under two different flow frequencies of 14.2 Hz and 23.6 Hz. Results indicate that the kinetic Reynolds number reveals the impact of flow frequency on heat transfer inside thermoacoustic systems.
