Abstract

This paper discusses the design of two axis digital sun sensor based on photo-resistor or light dependent resistor (LDR) circuit in order to achieve certain resolution. Photo-resistor is chosen because inexpensive, relatively sensitive and wider light field of view (FOV) compared to other light sensitive components. Using this sensor, passive attitude control systems been modelled and lead-lag control strategy has been designed and demonstrated using MATLAB 7.0 and SIMULINK.
