Abstract

The web-based system has rapidly becoming a valuable system to many diverse areas emerged with the increase of the internet users. A web-based system offers a global network communication and enables online information. Jt provides the real-time transactions and able to generate the dynamic data for making decis ions. The growing use of the web based system in the engineering machining industry has showed that it not possible to apply. However the implementation web based system in this area still need the comprehens ive study for give the maximum advantages. The purpose of this project is developing a web-based interactive engineering machining service system for a precision machining company Bradon Engineering Limited. The system is able to verify the authority users, receives the information from the users, generates the cost estimation as a decision making in costing and di splays the in format ion that required in the web pages. This project identifies the fun ctional system from the comprehensive studies in the current technology web-based system in eng ineering machining area and analyses user requirements by visiting industry. From these functional requirements, the interface of system is designed by us ing Interface User Design approach and the information of system is captured and designed in a data model ling. The project starts to develop the web site by configuration of the web server and identifies the potential technologies for creating the web pages. Finally, the discussion and conclusion of this project are presented and future works are also recommended in order to improve the web-based system in engineering machining area.
