Abstract

Adsorption mechanism of liquid also known as liquid adsorption on solid surfaces is a well-known system that has been utilized in many tribology applications. However, most of existing works of adsorption mechanisms have been focusing on wear rates and scar generated on solid surfaces without consideration on the liquid adsorption. In this book, the elaboration on the adsorption mechanism which is the main contributor to the wear rates and scar is elaborated and explained considering the structural quantities namely are density profiles, orientation order parameter and radius of gyrations. Additionally, this book also explores the contributors to heat generation in liquid and at the contact interfaces of solid and liquid. At the end of this book, the correlation between the structural quantities and heat generation is elaborated and explained.
