Abstract

In this research, eggshell (CaCO3) as a natural composite bioceramics is used to make a new improvement in materials world. The main purpose use eggshell as a new thing because the major component of eggshells is calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Chicken eggshell (ES) containing 95% Calcium Carbonate and has a potential as the important bio-filler. Investigation of mechanical properties and behavioral of Calcium Carbonate composite compared with virgin matrix, Polyethylene (PE) will carry out as a new research. There are three types of test such as tensile, flexural, and creep which is purposed to search the behavioral and the best mechanical properties among the fraction values of filler. The Modulus Elastic (E) has been improved with the ES content, and during creep test, this biofiller was found to be better than virgin PE. Although ES composites showed lower E values than virgin PE hence, the lower content of ES composites still can improve their properties for some applications. Scanning Electron Microscope showed an improved interf acial bonding on the tensile fractured surface.
