Abstract
This paper presents optimized multi-period economic dispatch solution for large-scale power system operations. The purpose is to achieve the required minimization of the operation cost of power generating units. Linear Programming, LaGrange Relaxation and Branch and Bound Methods were used. The combined algorithms used appear to be fast enough to meet the computation resource requirement of the system and to minimize the operating cost of generation units. An economic load dispatch with six period intervals has been formulated and successfully completed. The results found from the algorithm appears to be modest in both optimizing the operation cost and achieving fast computation time of dynamic economic load dispatch system
