Abstract
This study is to investigate the effect and mechanical properties against the wood plastic composite (WPC) that were produced through the addition of coupling agent, the various processing methods, and the loading-addition percentages of recycled woods flour. The mixture ratio of HDPE to wood flour (WF) are 9:1, 8:2, 7:3, and 6:4 , while the test specimens prepared are into various composition, such as the Normal WPC (HDPE + WF), the WPC with coupling agent (CA) addition, and the WPC with CA and PPB mixture. The single way and two way processing methods were also applied for final sample preparation procedure, besides hot compression molding. The mechanical tests such as the flexural test, impact test, and tensile test were used to evaluate the results of mechanical properties of the fabricated Enviro-WPC. The results show that tensile properties were decreased (based on plot trend) with the increasing of filler loading for both tensile strength and tensile modulus. In contrast, the results of other mechanical properties test (such as the impact and flexural properties) were apparently like the plot that showed the erratic pattern and undependable to any examining factors.
