Abstract

Abstract—A design of DGS as a quarter wavelength operating at 2.4 GHz is presented in this paper. The DGS as a quarter wavelength can be used as open or short stub in any RF circuit design where it can reduce 35% of transmission line compared conventional quarter wavelength. The DGS is designed and simulated using Advanced Design Software. Then, the layout of the DGS is fabricated for verification. The result shows a correlation between simulation and measurement for open to short circuit performance where the simulated impedance of the DGS at short circuit is 2.39 Ohm while the measured impedance is 5.58 Ohm.
