Abstract
In semiconductor industry, the product is produced after went through several processes before it reaches the customer. This research proposal is to study the material of the machine unit stopper from Enthusiastic, Commitment, and Ability (ECA) machine at the autovision process. First phase of the project is to detennine and analyse the structure and material used for current machine unit stopper. The current material used to fabricate the machine unit stopper is aluminium alloy. The research will study on the criteria of the aluminium and further assessment is considered on other material as well. On the other hand, lifespan of the machine unit stopper is also analysed and predicted. Then, several samples based on different types of material is tested. The performance of the part is assessed based on the lifespan of the part together with the forces applied during the operation of the machine. Result of the lifespan and impact of the part towards the machine performance will be collected before it concluded to replace the existing design.
